I believe that the first years of a child's life is by far the most important. Child's first years are the most critical toward developing self-esteem and security, I will strive to provide a rich, warm and supportive environment in which the child may develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
My goal is to provide a place where children know that they are accepted, loved, protected, and wanted; helping to instill in each child a strong sense of self-worth and purpose. My job is to make sure that each child has numerous positive experiences and interactions throughout each day. It is my hope that when the day is done, and children go home, they feel happy and proud of themselves; eager to express the happenings of their day to you.
I feel that good communication between parent and provider is a very important part of a quality daycare. Because of this, we are committed to creating a strong bond with you and your child, helping to ensure the best start to your child's life. My goal is that you feel completely confident and reassured when you leave your child in our care. Each child is different, unique, and special and will be treated as such.
Each and every day I feel privileged to have the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of a child, to join in their laughter, and to be included in their games.
My Little Town Dayhome is based on the child development model which incorporates the Learning Through Play and Constructivist Theories of Piaget, Montessori, Erikson, Vygotsky, and others. What is so special with all these Constructivist Theories and Learning Through Play?
Constructivist Teaching is an educational theory that says children learn by constructing meaning as children explore, engage with others and reflect on their experiences. Constructivism is developed from the principle of children's thinking and states that children learn through adaptation. Children are not passive in knowledge, but active at making meaning and trying to make sense out of the world and themselves. A child constructs understanding through many channels: reading, listening, exploring, and experiencing his or her environment
Early childhood education often focuses on Learning Through Play, based on the research and philosophy of Piaget, which states that play meets the physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social needs of children. Children's natural curiosity and imagination naturally evoke learning when unfettered. Children learn more efficiently and gain more knowledge through activities such as dramatic play, art, and social games. Vygotsky beileved that a child's social interaction with others played a huge role in their development. He beileved that children learn through acitve play.
I look forward to the opportunity to care for your child, while providing a positive influence in their life
